PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE:
Think, please, of the meaningful things that we, educated women, can do to enhance the psychological lives of other people.  For example, we can forgive most anything, even the things that we thought were unforgiveable.  For example, in our own minds, we can frame and reframe other people’s behavior into kind, generous mental pictures.  As educated women, we can, similarly, minimize our perceptions of wrongdoing on the part of other people.  Unconditional sincerity is also ours, alone, to give to others. Practice, practice, practice and count.  Tally, please, the innumerable psychological after words that belong to us.
Carole Krauthamer

GENERAL MEETING:
PRESIDENTS’S DAY, MONDAY, FEBRUARY 17, 2014
“FOUR NEAR GREAT PRESIDENTS AND WHAT MADE THEM SO”
Historians love to rate the presidents:  great, near-great, above average, average, below average, failure – and students of history devour these ratings. In this presentation, our speaker, David Mulford, talks briefly about presidential ratings and then looks at four presidents rated NEAR great and describes what made them so.  Who are these four presidents?  Come and find out.
David Mulford is a retired Presbyterian minister with degrees from Colgate University, Princeton Theological Seminary and Drew University.  He has served churches in New York, New Jersey and Florida.  Now living in Skillman NJ he continues a life-long interest in the American presidency.  The Reverend Dr. Mulford has taught courses at adult education programs and Elderhostels around the country.
Our meetings begin at 1 p.m. at All Saints Church, Princeton.  Refreshments follow the presentation and guests are always welcome.

HELP THE SCHOLARSHIP FUND:
An easy way to make a contribution to the WCCP Scholarship Fund is by collecting McCaffrey’s register receipts.  If you (or your friends and neighbors) have not used a discount such as Senior Tuesday for your purchases, please save your receipts for us.  At each general meeting there will be a collection basket for the deposit of your receipts, or you can send them to Beverly Kestenis.
Questions?  Call Beverly.

APRIL FUNDRAISER  Our Annual Spring Fundraiser this year will be on April 28, 2014 at 11:30 a.m.

WE SHALL NEED YOUR HELP TO MAKE THIS A SUCCESS

NEEDED:
WHITE ELEPHANT SALE:  Gently-used items for which you have no use but which someone else will have fun buying a “treasure” for a small amount (think yard sale).  Call Carol Stawski for pick-up or bring to the next board or general meeting.

SILENT AUCTION:  With one or two other members, put together a Basket with a theme, list what is inside, and the value of your offering. Call Aloha Holloway to avoid duplicates or for suggestions.

Another idea:  Ask for a gift certificate at your favorite store, beauty parlor, or tradesman.  Ask Kay Bingeman for our EiN# for tax-exempt status.

A third idea:  A holiday gift you really can’t use but for which someone else will find room.
