December 19, 2016: “Holiday Songs in Different Genres”
Jocelyn and Tom Colao presented us with holiday songs. They offered classical, musical theater, and in Jocelyn’s words, one “jazzy” selection. In Tom’s words, concluded their program with a “HEAD BANGING ORGAN SELECTION.”
Tom Colao is the Director of Music and Choir Director at All Saints Episcopal Church in Princeton. He is a graduate of the Westminster Choir College where he pursued studies in organ and sacred music. Tom also attended the Mannes College of Music in Manhattan where he studied voice and choral conducting. He maintains an active schedule as a composer, accompanist, vocal coach, freelance conductor, and a tenor and organ soloist.
Jocelyn is a graduate of the Westminster Choir College where she earned her degree in Vocal Performance. She made her professional solo debut at the Spoleto Music Festival. She has appeared as a soloist with the Westminster Chapel Choir, Schola Cantorum, Williamson Voices, and the world-renowned Westminster Choir. Jocelyn has been a soloist with the Princeton Pro Musica, the Colby College Choral, and the Princeton Society of Musical Amateurs. She has also sung internationally with choruses for The Festivale Pro Musica e Ate Sacra, the International Festivale per Giovanni Musicisti, and the Concerto Capella Sistina & Idyllic Ireland tour, where she was a member of the first American Choir to give a performance in the Sistine Chapel.
Our program was held in the sanctuary of All Saints Episcopal Church on All Saints Road off Terhune Road in Princeton, beginning at one o’clock. Guests were welcomed, as always. Following the program members and guests enjoyed a time of fellowship and holiday refreshments. – Barbara Johnson
