December 18, 2023 Monday. Hana Muzika Kahn on “Maya and Spanish languages and cultures in a town in Guatemala”.  Prof. Dr. Hana Muzika Kahn recently retired from teaching languages and cultures in Europe, South America, and USA, and since 2000 has conducted research about Spanish and Maya cultures and languages in the town of Parramos, Guatemala. She gave a Power Point presentation about the community and discussed a trilingual book of stories, legends, experiences, and traditions transcribed from recordings made during several years of interviews with community members. Poster.

At this General Meeting, Club President Jan Stout presented a thank-you gift card to Diane, staff at the Morven Center who had helped make our monthly meetings go very smoothly, setting up the meeting room, and helping with the technical stuff. And as usual, club members generously provided yummy tasty snacks for everyone to enjoy.
