Walking Group

Usually on the first week of each month, weather permitting, a 2 – 3.5-mile walk will be scheduled.  Walks will be out-and-back so you can turn around whenever you choose to do so.   If the weather isn’t suitable for a walk, an alternative date will be set and emailed. Past Walks

When:  (cancelled; too cold) Walk Tuesday April 8 at 10:30 AM. What: Walk through Sayen Gardens with Spring flowers in bloom. Lunch at Panera’s on Route 33 in Hamilton to follow. Where:  Sayen Gardens is on the corner of Hughes Drive and Mercer St. in Hamilton Square

When: Sept 26, Thursday. 10:30 AM (cancelled) What:  2 Mile Walk around the lakes in Robbinsville’s Town Center followed by lunch at DeLorenzo’s Tomato Pies, 2350 NJ-33 in Robbinsville.

None for July. August 2 Friday (cancelled, due to the high temperature and humidity) trail at College of NJ.

When: June 5 Wednesday, 9:30 AM. Where: Marquand Park on Lovers Lane in Princeton.

When: May 8 Wednesday 10:30 AM. Where: Sayen Gardens in Hamilton Square, Trip and Walk. Lunch or a snack at the nearby Panera (on Route 33).

When: April 24, 2024 Wednesday at 10 AM. Where: Mercer County Park. Met at the 9/11 Memorial near the entrance to the Marina parking lot.

When: June 2, 2023 Friday 9:30 AM. Where: D&R Canal from Port Mercer south, starting in the parking lot by the bridge and walked south.

When: May 5, 2023 Friday 10 AM. Where:  D&R Canal path starting from the parking lot on the south side of Alexander Rd.

When:   April 6, 2023, Thurs. 10:30 AM. Where:  Veterans Park,  Whitehorse-Hamilton Square Rd. entrance (next to Hospital).

When: February 6, 2023 Monday at 1 PM (weather permitting) Where: Mercer County Park East Picnic Area to Viet Nam Memorial and back, a 3 mile walk on a paved path.

When:  Jan. 13,  2023 Friday at 1 PM, where:  Mercer County Park: at the East Picnic area off Edinburg Rd.   We walked the paved trail to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial located between S. Post Rd. and Old Trenton Road and continued on S. Post Rd. to the entrance to the marina area and then returned to the East Picnic area on the paved trail.

When: December 6 Tuesday 10:45 Walking Group + Trip + Lunching Out: Kuser Farm Mansion, Hamilton NJ, lunch at Padrino’s Bistro. Car pooled 10 AM from Kathy’s house. Organized by Kathy.

When: November 11 Friday Veterans Day, because of rain the docent-led tour of the beautiful Grounds for Sculpture at 11:30 was cancelled, but the lunch at Rats at 12:45 was not cancelled.  

When:  Oct. 7 Friday at 1:30 PM, where: D&R Canal Path from Alexander Rd. — a 2.5 mile walk – out and back.

When: Wed. June 22 at 9 AM. Where: Pole Farm on Cold Soil Rd. (part of Mercer Meadows) by the barn.

When:  Friday April 1, at 10 AM. Where:  Village Park, Lawrenceville. We walked part of the Lawrence Hopewell Trail starting from the parking lot in Village Park off Yeger Rd.  

When:   March 4, 2022  Friday at 1 PM. Where:  Parking lot for D&R Canal Path at Quakerbridge Road (Port Mercer)
