PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE:
It’s great to be back! I am looking forward to an exciting year and getting to know our many new members. I hope we can have an informal morning meeting in January, in an informal setting, where members can share what they think we are doing right and what they want to see improved or changed. The gathering would also be a chance to get to know more about each other. Who knew that Mary Ellen Parry played the clarinet with a local band for more than twenty years; that Nancy Lifland had a glider pilot’s license; that Lorraine Hauche knows all of Van Morrison’s songs by heart?
On a more serious note, I also think we should hear Danuta Buzdygan talk about her experiences during the Warsaw, Poland uprising of 1944.
Please let me know what you think.

ALL SAINTS CHOIR VISITS THE HOLY SEE
On October 20, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at All Saints Church, we shall have the pleasure of hearing Tom Colao, Director of Music at All Saints Church and Associate Conductor of the Westfield Chorus.
He will recount the many experiences the choir enjoyed when 20 members were invited to present a performance in the Sistine Chapel at the Vatican last February. They joined members of the Continuo Arts Symphonic Chorus of Westfield.
At the Sistine Chapel the choir performed choral and solo numbers for an audience which included Pope Francis. They also performed in Assisi, Italy, and in Dublin and Limerick, Ireland.
Mr. Colao studied at the Mannes College of Music in Manhattan and the Westminster Choir College, majoring in conducting, vocal performance, and organ.
