The Scholarship Committee; Kathleen Hutchins, Janet Reiche, Beverly Kestenis, and Danuta Buzdygan (Chair), interviewed 32 applicants from the Hun School (4), Princeton Day School (7), Princeton High School (19), and Stuart Country Day School (2). Eleven scholarships were awarded.
The Florence Bell Hillier Award went to Rory Finnegan of Princeton Day School; the Molly Updike Award went to Sarah Hossain of Princeton High School; and the Harriet Peterson Book/ Women’s College Club Scholarship went to Caitlin Bongiovi of Princeton High School.
There were two new awards this year. The Douglas Bottomley Memorial Award funded by WCC member, Anne Bottomley, went to Tiffany Feng of Princeton High School; the Mary Louise Gervato Memorial Award funded by WCC member Lorraine Haucke and her sister Teresa Kravitz went to Ronasia Scott of Princeton Day School.
The Women’s College Club scholarships were awarded to Pamela Torres, Zoe Lessard, and Brittany Van Name (all of Princeton high School), Evelyn Esteban of Princeton Day School, and Autumn Townsend and AnnaLiza Carey of Stuart Country Day School.
The awards were presented at a Scholarship Tea at the home of Virginia Mason on Wednesday, May 21st. In attendance were members of the Club, scholarship winners and their families; Sarah Graham of Princeton Day School; Robert Hillier, and Princeton Packet Staff Writer, Jennifer Kohlhepp.
The Committee wishes to thank Ginny Mason for her hospitality, Women’s College Club members for providing refreshments and taking photographs, Rosemary Barratt who once again provided certificates and calligraphy, and Jennifer Kohlhepp for her interest in the Club’s mission.
