We are turning the spotlight on Nora Anaños, our club photographer. Nora is not only a great photographer and graphic artist, but a fabulous painter.
“I am Nora H. Anaños, member of the board, and I contribute to our Club with the photography for our events. I always liked to draw and paint since I observed my grandfather drawing. He was really good at drawing and also liked photography. I took some drawing classes at the Academie des Arts in Montreal, Canada in 1989; and later on, in the year 2005, I learned oil painting techniques at a French artist Marcel’s art studio in North Brunswick. I have displayed my work in local exhibitions, and enjoyed the friendship of other talented women who participated in the same sessions.
I was very happy to take part in the Mercer Senior exhibitions and to get Awards for two of my paintings: — Second Place with “Still Life of fruits and a pitcher” in 2019 — Third place with “Magnolia” painting in 2020 (done virtually by zoom due to the pandemic). Both are oil paintings and were in the non-professional categories.” Nora Anaños
Nora Anaños got the 3rd Place for her painting, titled: “Magnolia“ in the Oil-Non Pro category at the 2020 Mercer County Senior Art Show – ONLINE EDITION, sponsored by the Mercer County Division of Culture & Heritage and the Mercer County Office on Aging. 80 Mercer County Senior Artists participated in the show.
