Annual Business Luncheon Meeting 2013

May 20, 2013.  ANNUAL BUSINESS LUNCHEON MEETING, ELECTIONS –
SPEAKER: J. ROBERT HILLIER, FAIA.

The Annual Business Luncheon of the Women’s College Club of Princeton was held at 12:00 p.m., May 20, 2013 at All Saint’s Parish.  More than 50 members and guests attended the member catered “Pot Luck” affair. During the meal, the business meeting was conducted by Club President Reba Lippincott who opened by listing HIGHLIGHTS from the Annual Report which included the following achievements by the 2012-2013 Executive Board:

  • Reinstatement of tax exempt status
  • Changed to a Princeton P.O. Box address
  • Developed our own free website
  • Printed our own business cards
  • Added a volunteer webmaster position to the Executive Board
  • Completely revised our bylaws.
  • Experimented with holding three Board Meetings at public venues available free to nonprofit groups.
  • Held our Annual Spring Benefit Fundraiser at the Present Day Club
  • Donations to our scholarship fund are up.
  • Held our Annual Scholarship Tea at the lovely home of member Virginia Mason and awarded college scholarships to ten outstanding young women graduating in the Class of 2013 from Princeton High School (6), Princeton Day School (2), and the Hun School (2).

Using their own funds, four Board members attended Community Works at Princeton University, a conference of workshops and networking designed to enable nonprofit boards, staff and volunteers to work together more effectively by networking, developing skills, and raising community awareness.

The President walked around the room and introduced the Board Members, thanking and congratulating each for her specific contributions to the club during 2012-2013.

Following the business meeting, Program Chair Barbara Johnson introduced our distinguished speaker, Mr. J. Robert Hillier, FAIA, founder of  J. Robert Hillier, Princeton, NJ who addressed our group about his visions for the future of Princeton.
